What Is Posies & Lemon Drops?

Posies & Lemon Drops was created in January 2008, to bring attention to those less fortunate than others (both human and animals) and to give those who are interested, a creative outlet in which to help those in need.

What Kind Of Creative Outlet?

Specifically, knitting and crocheting. It may expand to other fiber crafts as we grow but the initial goal is to provide hand crafted items from knitters and crocheters.

What Kind Of Items Are Needed?

The types of items will vary as we continually add new charitable efforts to the blog. The first effort we are hosting is for Ascension Place, we are making washcloths for the residents.

STARTING AT THE END OF MAY - An opportunity to knit, crochet or sew a small pouch which will hold trial size containers of toiletries. Information will be on this blog before the end of May. Watch for it!

What Are The Deadlines For Sending In Items?

There will be no deadlines if we can help it. Every endeavor will be considered perpetual - meaning for example - that that we will make washcloths for Ascension Place until they tell us they have enough, or that the folks who need the pouches with the toiletries tell us they have enough. That way there are less pressures on those who wish to contribute and perhaps more knitters, crocheters and sewers will be interested enough to participate.

Why Was Posies & Lemon Drops Created?

Over the holidays I found myself wanting to do something for others - to pay it forward, so to speak. Knowing how much we fiber fans all enjoy helping others I knew had to set this up.

Who Am I?

My name is Patty, I am an avid knitter, I learned how to knit about 7 years ago. I enjoy going to the various Stitches Eventsthat are hosted in Illinois and in California to take knitting workshops (my favorite instructor thus far - Melissa Leapman), I believe Stitches West 2008 will be my 8th one, though it might be my 9th. :-) I learn so much everytime, from the workshops and the knitters I meet.
